During most of 2018, the state of Rio de Janeiro lived under a Federal Intervention. Decreed in February by the President in office, Michel Temer, it transferred to the Brazilian Army the responsibility for the security activities in the state of Rio. The intervention changed the roles of those who are responsible for public security, but the structure were kept the same. The violent deaths grew, as well as the shootouts and thefts. Those who have always suffered keep suffering in this state of chaos.
